Orthosis for drop foot – AFO (Leaf Spring)

The AFO (Leaf Spring) orthosis is made of injected thermoplastic material with graphene particles, providing flexibility in the Achilles tendon area, which facilitates plantar and dorsiflexion movements during walking. The orthosis prevents the foot from dropping, especially during the swing phase, and keeps the foot at a 90º angle. The design allows for slight adjustments using a heat gun. It has an easy-to-use magnetic strap that allows the orthosis to be fixed comfortably and safely, suitable for people with limited mobility, ensuring autonomy in use. There are size markings on the sole to help adjust the orthosis to an individual fit.

Indications:

• For patients with limitations in dorsiflexion of the foot
• Hemiplegia after cerebrovascular accidents (strokes), consequences of flaccid paralysis
• Achilles tendon retraction

Restrictions on use: Not recommended for patients with varus or valgus deformities of the dorsum of the foot or in cases of spastic paralysis.

The size is determined by shoe size.
