Allevyn Gentle Border Lite Dressing can be used to prevent medical device-related pressure injuries on intact skin as part of a bed rest injury protocol. Allevyn Gentle Border bandage absorbs exudate and promotes the optimal moist environment for wound healing, reducing the risk of maceration. The self-adhering, perforated silicone gel wound layer allows exudate to enter the foam layer. The self-adhesive silicone layer is gentle, suitable for use on fragile skin , and allows the dressing to be applied, repositioned and removed easily. The hydrocellular foam layer absorbs exudate away from the wound. The outer waterproof, breathable film layer allows the exudate to evaporate, preventing leakage and bacterial contamination. Allevyn Gentle Border Lite can be used together with Intrasite gel , which simultaneously cleanses the wound of necrotic tissue and absorbs excess exudate without damaging the granulation cells.
