Hot flashes in women’s everyday lives: what does the survey reveal and what are the hopes for new solutions?

Karstuma viļņi

Hot flashes, as well as other symptoms of perimenopause and menopause, are a reality for many women (or even most women) around the world. It's finally time to talk openly about these and other symptoms and to find solutions to help alleviate them, including hot flashes.

Medical product manufacturers offer various solutions - hormonal, non-hormonal, and extensive research is being conducted with the aim of helping every woman improve her quality of life during this stage of life.

RAL survey on heat waves

We also wanted to find out from ladies in Latvia who are in the perimenopause or menopause stage how they cope with their symptoms, what solutions they choose, what they would like to choose. In gratitude for sharing this information, we held a raffle in which 3 of the survey participants had the opportunity to receive a Coolzen device for reducing hot flashes and other perimenopause and menopause symptoms . We really hope that the winners will share their experiences and we will be able to tell you about it (of course, maintaining personal confidentiality, if they wish).

Hot flashes aren't just a physical symptom—they affect quality of life

Most of the participants in this survey (almost all) admitted to experiencing hot flashes. Their regularity varied - some women experience them only once or twice a day during this stage, but many even 5 or more times a day. For some, they are only a minor discomfort, but for others - a significant nuisance that affects sleep, well-being, work capacity, emotional well-being and social life. Many also experience other symptoms associated with menopause - night sweats, sleep disorders and mood swings.

Several women indicate that heat waves force them to adjust their daily habits, such as choosing lighter clothing, seeking cooler rooms more often, or using fans and cold drinks a lot.

Means and methods: there is no single “magic solution”

In the survey, we learned that women use different approaches to relieve symptoms. Some women use natural or herbal remedies, some - hormone therapy. At the same time, there is a group that uses nothing at all. Conclusion - symptom relief is a topical issue and natural remedies may be of much more interest to women than hormone therapy.

Most would be willing to try a new technological device

What is particularly striking is that the majority of the women surveyed would be willing to try a technological device that helps reduce hot flashes without medication, such as Coolzen.

They clearly state what is most important when choosing such a device:

  • to be scientifically based and verified ,
  • to be safe and without side effects ,
  • to be convenient to use ,
  • to be affordable ,
  • if possible, with advice from other women or doctors .

Many also indicate that a doctor's recommendation, positive reviews, or a special offer would motivate them. Interestingly, even those women who are currently using a method are open to new solutions, as long as they provide a quick and reliable effect.

Survey confirms: women are looking for solutions that work - safe, effective and without drugs

The survey clearly shows a common sentiment - women want real, everyday solutions that will help them better cope with hot flashes. Existing methods only provide partial relief, so interest in modern, technological alternatives is very strong.

We hope to soon be able to present you with honest opinions from ladies who had the opportunity to use Coolzen.
